Art Therapy


RTI uses art therapy as a tool for communication and expression. Art and other creative activities can help individuals to express difficult emotions, increase self-awareness and make sense of events. It can connect people to one another, help them to process the unspeakable and to find purpose in the world again. As therapy, art can have a positive and healing effect on the following levels:

 

·       Physiological  (relaxation and self-regulation)
·       Cognitive        (making sense of events)
·       Emotional       (conscious and unconscious expression of emotions)
·       Behavioural    (engagement in active artistic expression)
